Hiking plans for August 2019

First of all, I have to apologize for not creating any post about my hitchhikes so far. I had quite a lot of them since I left Berlin on Tuesday 6.8.  I didn’t realize that blogging while travelling may prove to be tricky since it involves finding time for blogging while travelling. Most of my time hitchhiking was spent on the effort of keeping moving and updating the writings on my sign while eating and sleeping as much as would keep me going. Here and there I actually went out in a city, which didn´t help my regaining sleeping hours. Sometimes Europe (especially the norht ) will punish you for being spontaneous and not planning or biking things in advance, but for the most part, my experience has been good. Following my whim in my own pace turned to be a good idea, so I will continue in a similar fashion until the end of ma vacation.

Spoiler for the next posts: hitchhiking works 😉

Had I made any plans in advance, I could use this time to blog about how I got here, from the summer house of my friend in Västmanland Sweden. All I will say now is that my original hitchhiking idea turned out well.

So here’s the Idea:

I will go all the way from southern Sweden to the town of Trondheim in Norway.  There I would hitchhike a bit more, so I can start the last section of the of the famous pilgrim road that starts in sweden. All in all, I won ́t hike for longer than 3-4 days.

Mostly I’m looking for:

  • Hiking partners
  • A place to leave some of my stuff while I hike
  • Couches to surf
  • Places to camp
  • Some rides

If you are going to this area or looking to hike, you are very welcome to join me. I have one extra place in my tent as well as a cooking set. Of course, you will have to bring your own equipment and food otherwise.

If you have any recommendations for more interesting hikes in the area, I ́d like to know about them.

Hitchhiking all the way to the middle of Norway will be a new challenge for me. I will start riding there on the 12.8. In the morning and I plan to be in Trondheim on Thursday 15.8.

Starting in southern Sweden I hope I  could reach the Norwegian border in a day or two. If you are somewhere in the area of Örebro or Karlstadt and can host me or meet up, I would be very grateful. The rest of the way to Norway goes through much smaller places, if someone is living or travelling along my route, you are welcome to give me a shout.

See you on the road,

Ilya

Some years ago I followed my heart, moved to Berlin and became a sociologist. I was lucky enough to find a job in my favourite realm of sustainability. Another dream was writing. And though there are countless topics I want to write about, a travel blog will do for a start. https://www.instagram.com/generalawesomness
